Grey Bruce OPP charged 34 drivers last week as they cracked down on overweight commercial vehicles, including one they say was 40,000 kilograms above the limit.
Police said the blitz took place following a community complaint about overweight vehicles.
Officers conducted enforcement efforts throughout the county last Monday, and charged nine drivers for driving with overweight loads, along with several other Highway Traffic Act violations.
They also conducted 13 commercial motor vehicle inspections resulting in four being put out of service due to major defects.
In a release, Staff Sergeant Keegan Wilcox said they’ll continue to work to address matters such as this.
