Saugeen Shores Police shared this photo of a call they responded to on Christmas Day of a driver stranded on a closed road. They say the call required two police cruisers, two ambulances, the Saugeen Shores Fire Department, a tow truck and several good Samaritans living nearby.

Three drivers were charged after driving on closed highways by Grey Bruce OPP over the weekend.

Police say since roads were shut down across counties on Dec. 23, they charged three motorists during the course of their duties, as they responded to hundreds of calls for service.

The offence carries a $110 fine and three demerit points upon conviction.

Police warn that driving closed roads doesn’t just put your life at risk, it’s also a risk for first responders. They ask that you obey road closed signs and refrain from travelling if you don’t have to during extreme weather events.
