Grey Bruce OPP are asking motorists to stay home and avoid travel. The OPP says they have received several concerning complaints regarding motorists passing & driving around snow removal crews in an unsafe manner, sometimes in whiteout conditions.
These unsafe driving maneuvers put everyone at risk and are completely unacceptable.
They ask drivers to drive according to road and weather conditions if you have to travel.
They advise to plan ahead and expect delays, and keep in mind that many roads remain closed throughout Southwestern Ontario, so you may not be able to reach your destination.
Police also advise that several Municipalities and Townships have by-laws prohibiting parking on roadways during certain times.
They say it is essential these are adhered to, to allow for snow removal crews to clear roadways.
