The Warden of Grey County is throwing his hat into the provincial political ring.

The Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Liberal Riding Association announced that Selwyn Hicks will be their candidate in the upcoming provincial election.

Hicks, who is also the Deputy Mayor of Hanover, was acclaimed at a nomination meeting on Thursday.

He ran for the Liberals in 2007 provincial election but lost to Progressive Conservative Bill Murdoch.

Rick Byers was appointed the PC candidate for the June election replacing Bill Walker who announced earlier that he would not be seeking re-election.
