Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services and South Bruce OPP will renew their rivalry on the ice this Sunday, in support of local causes.
The annual Guns and Hoses game gets underway during Tiverton Winterfest, with proceeds raised at the gate getting donated to Huron Shores Hospice. They’ll also be collecting non-perishable items for the local food bank’s Chuck a Puck at intermission.
The firefighters took the most recent round, but OPP constable Kevin Martin says they’re poised for revenge.
“The bottom line for this year is quite simple, our friends at fire have the trophy but all I can tell them ahead of the game is, it’s a good thing we’re playing on ice because we’re bringing the heat,” chirped Martin.
“At the end of the day, the families are going to be there for Winterfest, just drop by the game, throw a few bucks in the pot and watch some really fun games.”
The game starts at 2 p.m. at the Tiverton Sports Complex on Feb. 5.
