Hanover Police arrest Wiarton resident after B&E and Foot Pursuit in Wooded Area Sunday

Suspect found to be wanted on numerous charges by Grey Bruce OPP & Hanover Police while facing new charges of 2 counts of break and enter, possession of stolen property &break-in tools, obstructing justice and 2 counts of breaching a release order.

Hanover Police arrested a 44-year-old of Wiarton Sunday afternoon after responding to a call of a break and enter in the 1000 block of 7th Avenue.

They say the suspect led officers on a foot pursuit through a wooded area before being cornered and captured.

He was found to have been wanted on numerous charges by Grey Bruce OPP and Hanover Police while facing the new charges of 2 counts of break and enter, possession stolen property and break-in tools, obstructing justice and 2 counts of breaching a release order.

He remains in custody and Chief Knoll credits officers for containing and chasing the suspect over difficult terrain and a heavily wooded area.
