Hanover Police are asking residents to keep an eye open in the local industrial park, where there’s been theft and attempted thefts of catalytic convertors.

Police say there have been two separate occurrences over the past month where vehicles on job sites have been tampered with. The first saw five converters get taken from a fleet of construction vehicles. None were taken during the second occurrence, but police say there was evidence that someone tried to remove the converter before likely getting scared off.

Chief Christopher Knoll says it’s a problem province-wide.

“They do seem to target fleets of vehicles and often used battery powered construction tools like a SawZall,” he says.

If anyone has information about these thefts, they are asked to contact the police or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
