Hanover Police through Chief Christopher Knoll sent thanks to a local resident who came to the aid of some of their officers earlier this week during an incident involving a violent suspect.

Police were called to reports of the suspect near 10th Street and 17th Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

The citizen put himself in harms way to help the officers and get the man in custody and secured with handcuffs.

Chief Knolls says they tip their hats to him and wanted to let him know his quick actions prevented their officers and the suspect from sustaining any injuries. The 26-year-old male of no fixed address faces charges including assaulting police, and resisting arrest.
