There has been a happy ending to the story of recovered military regalia found on a suspect arrested by the West Grey Police Service on Tuesday, March 28th.
The force had taken to their Facebook page with photos and description of the items in hopes of finding their true home.
Within a short period of time the owner was found Stan Haycock. Stan says it was a Legion member that told him of their locating.
“A friend of mine from the Legion is the first one who called me at 8 o’clock in the morning. He said he saw it on the West Grey Police. He sent me pictures of it. We had quite the talk. I thanked him for it.”
Haycock said the items were stolen from the storage locker in his condo building earlier this year. They were taken in repeat visits by thieves in a mere matter of weeks. He says there are still other items still outstanding that were taken and hopes the suspect has links to more lost items.
