The Huron & Area Search and Rescue Team held its ribbon cutting event for its new marine Training Station, the Kerwood White Saturday night.

The simulator is named after Turnkey Guard Kearwood White, killed in 1941 at the Goderich jail as a Correctional Service officer.

The simulator will be used to train their marine members throughout the year as well as the 532nd Maitland Royal Canadian Air Cadets.

HASAR says it was made possible by donations from the Kinsmen Club of Goderich, Goderich Legion, and Braemar Retirement Centre.
