Dr. Ian Arra, Medical Officer of Health for the Grey Bruce Health Unit presented a plaque to the Municipality of Kincardine yesterday to commemorate the success of the Davidson Centre’s Covid-19 hockey hub mass immunization centre.

From March 12th to August 16th the Davidson Centre administered more than 27 thousand doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine.

The Hockey Hub was developed after the Heath Unit called on partners to develop the model to solve storage, distribute and safety challenges associated with Covid-19 vaccines.

Bruce Power was an early partner providing critical equipment and personnel to quickly realize the Hockey Hub model.

Chapman’s Ice Cream also provided expertise in refrigeration to ensure that vaccines were stored at safe temperatures.
