Hensall Co-Op awards $30,000 in Strong Communities Initiatives

Locally the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health received $10,000 to support Mental Health First Aid Training.

The Hensall Co-Op and its employees announced the recipients of their 3rd Annual Hensall Strong Communities Initiative.

The program is dedicated to supporting initiatives that are making a positive impact on rural communities.

This year, two exceptional organizations have been chose to receive the top grants totally $20,000 as well as an additional $10,000 split between 5 organizations.

The Portage District General Hospital in Manitoba and the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health each have been granted $10,000.

Locally it is to support Mental Health First Aid Training.

Smaller grants of $2,000 were awarded to the Arran-Elderslie towards the New Paisley Firehall, the Tanner Steffler Foundation toward its Youth Hub in Clinton, the Seaforth Hospital toward a StepOne machine, the Palmerston & District Hospital’s MRI campaign and one to a Clubhouse rebuild in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
