Proof of vaccination will still be required at some hospitals in our region.

The Grey Bruce Health Services announced that some visitor restrictions are being lifted at their six hospitals (including Saugeen Memorial in Southampton) as of Monday.

They are allowing up to two visitors per patient per day in most situations between 7 am and 7 pm adding it does not have to be the same two people.

In a news release, the hospital says they are looking forward to lifting more restrictions when it is safe to do so.

In the meantime, proof of vaccination along with photo ID will still be required upon entry at Grey Bruce Health Services hospitals.

Same goes with those planning to visit the Hanover and District Hospital.

Despite the loosening of COVID restrictions across the province, the hospital in a statement says COVID-19 continues to be a significant risk to vulnerable people who use the hospital.

They says it is necessary to keep measures in place for the safety of patients and staff.
