The Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance is moving to self-screening for COVID-19.

Effective today, hospital sites will now move to self-screening, with staff no longer administering screening at entrances. Everyone coming into any hospital will be required to answer a list of questions posted, sanitize their hands and put on a mask.

“This move to COVID-19 self-screening means we will be saying goodbye to some of our pandemic health care workers, also known as screeners,” said Andrew Williams, President and CEO in a release. “We’d like to thank this fabulous team for their dedication to patient and staff safety over the past two years.”

Children under two years old will not be required to wear a mask.

Patients in need of emergency care who do not pass the self-screening can still enter the hospital but must speak with a health care team member.
