Huron Perth Public Health released their annual report for 2021 this week, highlighting the impact the COVID-19 pandemic had on local healthcare.
There were 3186 COVID cases in Huron Perth last year, with 17.4% of confirmed cases in school age children and 6.1% of cases impacting healthcare workers. A total of 52 residents lost their lives to the virus in 2021.
Last year saw the largest vaccine roll out in the Health Unit’s history with 254,723 doses administered. The health unit held 282 mass vaccination clinics across the region over the year.
