Heading into the holidays, Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) is reminding residents to take steps to protect themselves from COVID-19 as cases are still an issue in the region.

According to the health unit, there have been three new COVID deaths reported in the last week. There are also 11 active outbreaks, including one in the Goderich Place Retirement residence.

The Health Unit is encouraging people to reduce their risk of infection for not just COVID-19, but seasonal influenza as well, by washing their hands often, covering coughs with their shirt sleeve and most importantly staying home if they feel sick.
