Organizations including the Grain Farmers of Ontario have come out in support of Bill C-234 introduced by Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb today to offer relief to the agricultural industry from the carbon tax.

The Grain Farmers say that once passed it would offer a break for farmers who are feeling the impact of increased taxes on their food production.

Grain drying is a vital part in producing grains that are used in foods and the Grain Farmers estimate that it will add an addition $46 per acre in direct drying costs by 2030. On an average 800 acre farm they say it adds up to $36,800 of increased costs.
