Huron County council took a look into Bayfield’s Secondary Plan last week which has been named as a first of its kind.
Senior Planner Denise van Amersfoort presented the official plan amendment to council on December 6th which has goals of development and bring change in the Bayfield settlement area.
Among one of the bigger issues looking to be resolved is the absence of wastewater treatment capacity in the area since 2015.
This has created a backlog in development until the capacity can be fixed.
After discussion, council approved the amendment.
