Every year the Huron County Accessibility Advisory Committee recognize and celebrate individuals and organizations who have made a commitment to accessibility across the county.
Nominations for the Sandra Thompson Memorial Accessibility Champion and Award of Merit for Barrier-Free Access are up for grabs.
The accessibility champion award honours Sandra Thompson and celebrates the International Day of Persons with Disabilities who served as the county’s Accessibility Coordinator until 2016.
The Award of Merit recognizes contributions made to create space and experiences that remove barriers and foster a more inclusive community with two categories, one for the public and another for a business.
Nominations are open until September 15th.
