Two local groups received over $1,000 from fundraising efforts by Huron County Slo-pitch at the recently held Goderich Winterfest.
The group held both a snow pitch tournament and age of majority dance on Feb. 4, and proceeds from those efforts were donated toward the Huron Respite Network and the Hunter Costello Memorial Fundation. Each group received a cheque for $1,100.
Slo-pitch president Steve Pilon thanked all the volunteers and the Town of Goderich for their help making the event run smoothly.
