There isn’t any slowdown for work of events going on for the Huron County Historical Society.

First running in 1924, the society ceased meetings due to neglect but was revived in 1964 and now continues the work of discovering, collecting and preserving historical information related to the discover and settlement of Huron County.

David Armstrong, President of the Huron County Historical Society says as far what stories they like to hear and preserve it’s almost endless of what they end up hearing about.

“Y’know we talk about Tiger Dunlop and John Galt and all those guys from the 1800’s but its also Indigenous history too. We’re very interested in those stories and those oral stories are coming out now as we look to our Indigenous neighbours.” said Armstrong.

The Historical Society is currently seeking new board members to join the society and help share more historical information related to Huron County.
