Huron-Kinloss authorizes Near-Term Investment Funding agreement with NWMO

The Near Term Investment Funding will see an estimated $2 million dollars be set aside for qualifying activities in 2023 and 2024.

The Township of Huron-Kinloss has announced that it has authorized the execution of an agreement with the Nuclear Waste Management Organization for a Near-Term Investment Funding Agreement.

The NWMO is in the process of selecting a site community to host a Deep Geological Repository.

The lands in the area are not in Huron-Kinloss, but directly abuts South Bruce and as such is considered to be a Primary Significant Neighbouring Community.

The Near Term Investment Funding will see an estimated $2 million dollars be set aside for qualifying activities in 2023 and 2024.

Eligible projects are required to be achievable, broad benefit sustainable projects and will be decided on by Huron-Kinloss Council.
