Huron-Kinloss Fire & Emergency Services will be receiving a grant of $16,460.
This came during council when Fire Chief Jeff Bradley said these funds would be used to support cancer prevention efforts by municipal fire departments in the province.
The grant will be put forward for equipment upgrades to boost firefighter health and safety as well as some minor infrastructure.
Funding is available for projects for new equipment and supplies, personal protective gear and some minor facility boosts such as better internet.
