Huron County OPP notified of multiple bear sighting in the area in the Bayfield & St. Joseph areas over the past few days.
They advise area residents to secure their garbage cans, bird feeders and report all sightings to the BearWise Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry for tracking purposes.
911 should only be called if a resident’s safety is threatened.
The Ministry has a website with tips on how you can reduce and prevent bears from traveling near camp sites and while outdoors.
