Huron OPP set highest number in charges laid and spot checks during festive RIDE

Huron County OPP say they had a huge spike in the number of impaired driving charges laid during their recent festive RIDE campaign.

The six-week campaign wrapped up on Sunday with 230 spot checks resulting in 21 impaired driving charges laid, seven were for impairment by drug.

They say in 2020, there were a total of six charges laid for impaired driving.

Huron County OPP say the number of charges laid and spot checks that have taken place were the largest of the 14 OPP detachments in the West Region.

There were also five warn range suspensions issued during the campaign.
