28 Indigenous communities, charitable organizations and municipalities have all received $25,000 coming from the Hydro One Energizing Life Community Fund.

Hydro One directs a minimum of 20 per cent of corporate donations and sponsorships to support Indigenous communities and initiatives which serve them.

Among those locally receiving support include Drop In at the Bridge, Community Living Walkerton, the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority and the Municipality of Bluewater.

Bronwen Evans, Vice-President of Sustainability, Communications & Marketing for Hydro One says Drop In was a big one for them to support after looking over their application.

“We were really inspired by the focus on building community, providing a sense of belonging as well as food security.” said Evans.

Wes Larson with Drop-In at the Bridge says this funding will provide increased access to food, flexible support for families and opportunities for community connection and learning.
