There will be a local Kincardine contingent heading to the NGO Committee on the Status of Women Forum in New York from March 5th to 17th.
Kincardine Canadian Federation of University Women member Sandra Thomson is going as a UN Women Agency Observer appointed by the National Board of the CFUW.
She speaks to what information she hopes her attendance provides.
“It’s a matter of being connected with the UN, especially UN Women, who sponsor the commission status of women, to see what is happening globally, how does it relate to Canada, how can we make things better for our own people and what can we do to maybe serve women in the Global world.”
