The Municipality of Kincardine is remembering late councilor Doug Kennedy who lost his battle with cancer.
Kennedy served on council for nearly six years, first being elected in 2018 while also being on the Kincardine Community Fund, Community Safety Committee, Striking Committee and the Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee.
Mayor Kenneth Craig in a statement says Doug was more than just a member of council, he was the heartbeat of sports, recreation and health care in the community.
A jersey day is set for August 28th inviting everyone to wear a sports jersey in memory of Councilor Kennedy.
