The Municipality of Kincardine have settled on their 2022 budget.

Property owners will see a $98.78 increase on their tax bill for a property assessed at $270,000.

The budget was given provisional approval on Tuesday.

Mayor Gerry Glover says Council settled on a 4.98 percent hike which would be reduced once education and County portions are factored in.

Glover says the budget will include retaining a by-law enforcement officer for this summer but they have rejected the idea of increasing garbage bag tag fees to cover the cost.

A budget by-law will be read and voted on at next Wednesday’s Council meeting.
