Discussion is expected to continue on Wednesday regarding the Secord monument in Kincardine.

When this topic last left off, council received a report from Dr. Laura Mae Lindo who broke down the 475 survey responses about the monument which has been the target of conversation for several months on what to do with the monument which references Dr. Soloman Secord’s service to the Confederate Army during the American Civil War.

Kincardine Mayor Kenneth Craig says on Wednesday the big chat will all be about opinion.

“Councilors will have the opportunity to express their opinions and hear other opinions about the value or placement or what they message is that the Secord monument says to our community.” said Craig.

In July when this report was presented, Mayor Craig said it was likely a final decision on what to do with the monument would be reached this month.
