Kincardine will stay at nine members for the 2026 election.
Council discussed the idea to have a consultant brought in to review and provide recommendations on the number of members which could be in council for the next election but the proposal was defeated.
Currently council consists of a Mayor, Deputy Mayor with three councilors which is all decided by the public as well as two Ward 1 councilors for the former town of Kincardine, one Ward 2 councilor for the former Kincardine Township and one Ward 3 for the former Bruce Township.
