Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services did not have sofa to go to run a training exercise for their ice rescue team over the weekend.

After discovering someone had dumped a couch in the Penatangore River below the Queen St bridge, their team of technicians developed a training exercise to pull the discarded furniture from the partially frozen waters.

Crews were able to remove the couch, cushions, and some other objects from the water in what KFES says was a great day of training for their dedicated water and ice rescue team.

Check the video below to see their training exercise.
