The Kincardine Foodbank received a generous donation from Lakeshore Tree Service recently in support of those facing food insecurity in the area.
Curtis Wright from the company says the $610 is proceeds from a recent raffle for golf passes.
“We were raffling off 2 rounds at Ainsdale Golf Course with carts. You just had to give $5 or more or whatever you were comfortable with and it went to the food bank. And we matched the donation.”
The Foodbank has seen a steady increase in demand in the past year. This year they have served 1486 people as compared to just under 1050 at this point last year.
