A Kincardine resident took the opportunity to speak to Council on the role women play in politics.

Sarah Patterson, a resident of Ward One, made a delegation to Council on Monday night.

Patterson says she was inspired to make the presentation after last week’s meeting.

She says the exchange between Councillors Dave Cuyler and Laura Haight only shows why women continue to be marginalized in politics.

Patterson says the point she wanted to get across was having a diverse representation on Council leads to better decisions for the community.
