The Municipality of Kincardine has seen the proposal for a new four-storey, 90-room Staybridge Suites hotel move forward. The property is located at the intersection of Highway 21 and Kincardine Avenue.
The project has entered into a Site Plan Agreement with the Municipality with site preparation underway and constructed to begin this summer.
The overall development includes four phases on the 4.5 hectare property.
Phases 1 and 2 will focus on the hotel while Phases 3 and 4 will consist of retail and quick serve restaurants.
Mayor Craig says they continue to advocate with the MTO to move forward with intended intersection upgrades at Kincardine Avenue & Highway 21.
He adds that the planned new stoplights and turning lanes will be in place when the hotel opens in late 2024.
