The Municipality of Kincardine is set to review a report at tonight’s council meeting on possible support for Downtown Kincardine Businesses impacted by the recent vandalism.

It directs staff if approved to provide $5,500 in funding or $500 each for the 11 impacted businesses.

The Municipality has held discussions with the County, and they  are set to match the funding through the Spruce the Bruce Program to  make available up to $1,000 per business to assist in storefront window replacement.

The next steps in the program would see:

  • Bruce County & Kincardine reach out to the impacted businesses & offer support through a facade grant
  • Businesses can apply for it under the Sprint the Bruce Program (including a quote)
  • Businesses sign Spruce the Bruce letter of offer & adhere to standard project eligibility
  • Once completed the business will submit a project completion form & funds will be released

Full details on the program can be viewed in the notes for this evening’s Committee of the Whole Meeting.
