Meeting at 7pm has a few purposes; including gauging interest on who wants to join the board and help it operate, as well as the general future of the building.

The Kinloss Community Centre is set to hold an emergency meeting next Wednesday, January 11th at 7pm.

The building, which formerly housed a school and in recent years has become a community hall, is now entirely community owned.

Long-time supporter of the Hall, and a former student there, Eric Thacker says there are a few reasons for the urgency.

“We don’t have as much interest as we used to. A lot of people have passed on.”

In terms of who should attend the meeting it is a wide group says Eric.

“I guess anyone in the immediate area that is interested in keeping the community centre going.”

Next steps being considered says Thacker including adding members, the continued operation of the hall or its closure.

Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting which is being held at the Kinloss Community Centre at 4303 Highway 9.
