Preparations are underway for the National Day of Mourning.
The occasion on April 28th recognizes those who lost their lives while on the job.
Vice-President of the Grey Bruce Labour Council Dave Trumble says the day of mourning was first created in Canada about 30 years ago and it is recognized around the world.
He says it is similar to Remembrance Day where it is a day to bring people together to honour those who died.
Trumble says there will be a number of ceremonies taking place in Kincardine, Arran-Elderslie, Owen Sound, and Walkerton on the 28th where a flag will be raised to mark the occasion.
