After a few years away, the Port Elgin Labour Day parade returns a week from today.
The Sept. 5 parade starts at 11 a.m., leaving from the traditional spot in the north end of town near the Home Hardware and Shoreline Baptist Church. All in the community are welcome to participate.
Dave Trumble, vice president of the Grey Bruce Labour Council says they’re excited to have the landmark event back and it should look the same as years prior, with plenty of floats, flags and festivities.
Trumble adds that the route might be altered slightly, but no matter what, it’ll be a celebration of all workers.
