A local agricultural company has been undertaking a fundraiser since 2018 to help a member of their employee family who encounters a financial difficulty at sometime in the year.

Bryan Long of Equipment Ontario, formerly Stoltz Equipment tells us what the program is all about.

“It was totally voluntary. There is a group of us at Equipment Ontario that decided to take 5 cents from every hour we work and put it into an account and we save it up for whenever one of our coworkers might be in need. We can get that money, within 24 hours, when they need it.”

The group says the program has been accessed 10 times since it was created.

Over the past 3 years the staff haven’t had to use the funds themselves so they have donated over $8,000 forward to food banks.
