The local unemployment rate dropped 0.2 percentage points to 4.3 per cent last month.
The Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic Region saw its labour force continue to drop from 164,600 people in June to 163,600 in July.
The population not taking part in the labour force also increased by 1400.
Gains in employment were seen in 1700 full time but with 2400 part time losses.
The best gains were in the utilities with 300 and 100 in manufacturing.
Drops were seen in Goods producing, agriculture and construction.
