Man Caught Breaking Into Home after Fleeing from Previous Break In

At approximately 4:30pm Saugeen Shores Police responded to a report of a Break and Enter in progress at a residential address in Port Elgin.

Police attended and spoke with the home owner who advised the unknown man had entered her residence but had since fled on foot.

Police soon located the man across the roadway who was attempting to break into a second residence.

The man was arrested at the scene and held in custody for a bail hearing.

As a result of this incident a 47-year-old male of Port Elgin has been charged with two coutns of Break and Enter and Mischief under $5000.
