The first week of March is honoured as Social Work week in Ontario.

The Avon Maitland Disctrict School Board too the opportunity to thank the Social Workers that work in their schools.

Assocation of Social Workers in Ontario says it’s a time for the profession to come together, advance their shared goals through collective advocacy and celebrate and spotline social workers contributions towards essential mental health access, support and recovery for all in the Province.

The group says the week comes at a pivotal moment in mental health. Two years into the pandemic, those in Ontario are navigating the mental health impacts of anxiety, stress and burnout like never before.

They add that across the Province, across the Country and the globe people are looking for hope and for signs of brighter days as they naviage the complex challenges and an even more complicated world.
