March is fraud prevention month and OPP across the West Region continue to urge caution and avoid being the next victim.
Fraud continues to grow and become more sophisticated and while fraud is increasing, the number of those reporting it are still slim.
Police say this is due to victims feel shame or embarrassed to come forward.
OPP say there are multiple scams out in the area including investment, identify and romance fraud.
Scammers will often use pressure, fear, urgency and emotion to manipulate their victims.
