The Meaford Curling Club has put a $200,000 grant to help replace its ice making plant and ensure high quality ice for curlers for years to come.

The grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation will help the club to replace the clubs original ice making plant.

The new plant features state of the art ice making technology and will enhance the curling experience for members and visitors alike while support the curling clubs long term sustainability.

The previous plant first constructed in 1987 failed last year with the club relying on a temporary rental unit housed in the parking lot.

Norm Glas, Chair of the Meaford Curling Club says the cost of a new plant was beyond what they could raise on their own and thanks to the grant what began as a crisis has turned into a celebration.
