Grey Bruce Public Health has confirmed a case of measles in an unvaccinated child in Grey-Bruce.

Public health confirmed the patient and other members of their home are isolating with a contract tracing investigation finding no public places in Grey-Bruce where community members could have been exposed.

The case is the only household members who had not received a measles vaccine with no other family members developing symptoms.

The case is not travel related and likely linked to the ongoing multi-jurisdictional measles outbreak in southern Ontario.

The risk of getting measles in Grey-Bruce still remains low, especially for those vaccinated against the virus.
