Military training in Meaford could get loud this week

The 4th Canadian Division Training Centre will be conducting live fire exercises from Monday to Friday, and noise made be heard from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The military training centre in Meaford is warning those in the area that they could hear some live fire over the week.

The Canadian Armed Forces’ Commanding Officer of the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre says the 56th Field Artillery Regiment will be conducting live fire exercises from Monday to Friday, and noises made be heard from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

There will also be an increase in military traffic along Hwy 26 and county roads.

The release says, “this exercise is purely for training purposes and at no time will safety or security of the public be in jeopardy.”
