The Municipality of Kincardine’s Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee took the opportunity this afternoon to show appreciation to all the local doctors for their expertise and dedication to health care in their community.
The Municipality says there are more than 14,000 patients and just 10 family physicians in the area, who along with primary care, provide emergency room and hospital inpatient coverage, nursing home care, pregnancy & baby wellness programs, palliative care, and more.
Kincardine says that due to the influx of new residents and workers, the local hospitals and medical clinics are overwhelmed with new patients and therefore they are actively recruiting physicians.
At the committee’s May 19th meeting the Committee Chair, Councillor Kennedy, recognized Dr. Cavanagh for recently taking on 200 additional patients.
