People looking to get into a career in nursing won’t have to go too far to get a degree.
Georgian College is introducing a four-year stand-alone Bachelor of Science in Nursing at their Owen Sound campus as well as their main campus in Barrie.
A formal announcement was made on Friday with Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker, Minister of College and Universities Jill Dunlop, Georgian College President Marylyn West-Moynes, Grey County Warden Selwyn Hicks, and Owen Sound Mayor Ian Boddy.
In a news release, Walker says this will give local students a chance to pursue their dreams closer to home and be able to provide more care to those in the community.
The first cohort of new nursing students at Georgian College will begin next September 2022.
