There are a number of COVID-19 vaccine clinics opening up in our region.

There are two happening on Wednesday.

One is at the Nuclear Innovation Institute in Port Elgin from 10 a-m until 2 p-m, the other is at the Ripley-Huron Community Centre from 4 p-m until 7 p-m.

There is also a clinic taking place this Friday from 11 a-m to 3 p-m at the Southampton Coliseum.

The clinics are open to anyone 12 years of age and older looking to get their first or second dose.

No appointment or health card is required at this clinic.

Visitors to the clinic looking for their second dose are being advised that they need to wait at least 28 days after receiving their first dose (56 days if the first dose was AstraZeneca) before receiving the second shot.

Meanwhile, there have been 4 new positive COVID cases to report in the Grey Bruce Health Unit in the last 24 hours.

All four occurred in Grey County (Grey Highlands, Blue Mountains, Meaford and West Grey).

2,232 are now confirmed with 46 active and 2,173 resolved.

4 people are currently hospitalized in Grey Bruce.

There were 10 new cases reported in Huron Perth.

That puts the total confirmed past the two-thousand mark to 2,003 with 20 active and 1,926 resolved.
